A Site Store Keeper is responsible for receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing, and tracking all materials, tools, and equipment at a building façade installation site.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
MATERIAL RECEIPT & INSPECTION:
- Receive incoming façade materials (glass panels, aluminium extrusions, ACP/stone cladding, brackets, gaskets, sealants/silicones, anchor bolts, and fixings).
- Verify delivered quantities against Purchase Orders (POs), Delivery Challans (DCs), Work Orders and packing lists.
- Conduct visual inspections for transit damage (scratches, glass chips, dents) and log discrepancies immediately (Material Rejection Note / Incident Reports).
STORAGE & INVENTORY MANAGEMENT:
- Maintain safe, organized storage layouts (vertical A-frames for glass/panels, horizontal cantilever racks for long aluminium profiles, dry/weather-proof storage for sealants and hardware).
- Monitor expiry dates and storage conditions for temperature-sensitive items (silicone/sealants, backing rods, primers) using First-In, First-Out (FIFO).
- Implement tag / bin card systems with clear item codes, drawing part numbers, and batch details.
MATERIAL ISSUANCE & DAILY TRACKING:
- Issue materials strictly against authorized Material Requisition Slips (MRS) signed by the Site Engineer or Supervisor.
- Maintain Daily Material Receipts (DMR) and Daily Material Issue (DMI) logs.
- Track wastage, off-cuts, scrap metal, and returnable empty packaging/drums.
TOOLS, TACKLES & MACHINERY CONTROL:
- Maintain custody and logs for installation tools (vacuum glass lifters, laser levels, torque wrenches, drilling machines, scaffolding/cradle components, Instruments).
- Manage issuance, return, routine cleaning, and third-party inspection/calibration records for safety equipment.
AUDITS, STOCK RECONCILIATION & REPORTING:
- Conduct weekly physical stock counts and monthly formal stock reconciliations against ERP/Excel records.
- Prepare daily/weekly stock status reports for Project Managers, Procurement, and Commercial teams.
- Flag minimum reorder levels for high-turnover consumables (screws, sealants, drill bits).
